Our Resident Teacher

Gen Kelsang Rigden

Gen Kelsang Rigden is the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Winnipeg.  Gen Rigden, ordained in 2004 by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, has been studying and teaching Modern New Kadampa Tradition (NKT) Buddhism internationally for over 16 years.   She is known for her warm-hearted disposition and presents the teachings in a clear and accessible way. Gen Rigden teaches the 30 Mins Meditations,  Tuesday evening class, Brandon classes, the Thursday evening class, the Sunday In-depth Study Class and weekend events.

Due to many local requests for Kadampa Buddhism to appear in Manitoba over the years, and a direct request by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Gen Rigden was sent by Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada  to Winnipeg in August 2016 to help develop a Kadampa Meditation Centre using the International Temples Project.  Gen Rigden brings many years of  Teaching experience in other other areas of Canada such as Ontario and British Columbia as well as the United States and the Caribbean.

Gen Rigden is also available to lead meditations for community or corporate events.
